About The Contest

Urban Star is excited to have two very talented and charismatic people to host Season One of the show. Shaw TV's own Tracy Koga and Dele O are set to light up the small screen when the official live auditions begin in May. As the senior producer for Shaw TV's Arts and Entertainment section "Backstage", Tracy brings a wealth of interviewing experience to the production. Urban Star believes in her ability to connect with the contestants and bring light to their stories and their dreams. Together this dynamic duo will use their integrity and charm to make Urban Star a winner.

MusiCounts

MusiCounts, Canada's music education charity associated with CARAS, is helping to keep music alive in schools across Canada. MusiCounts' mission is to ensure that children in Canada, regardless of socio-economic circumstances and cultural background, have access to a comprehensive music program through their school. MusiCounts includes Band Aid musical instrument grants, the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award, Scholarships, and other music education initiatives.

 

Urban Star is honored to donate proceeds from the Urban Star registrations & auditions to MusiCounts to help aid youth and music in Canada.
